I think that this article was really disappointing. The most disappointing part about the article was the part about how Barack Obama is in favor more with the white community then the black community. I honestly do not think he should be favoring one community then the other. It seems like he forgot about the other races and that is really not fair. I know people expected him to do right for just the black community. But why can't he be like the best president Bill Clinton and help out the black community while he pleases the white community also. While I have never really been an avid follower of Barack Obama, reading this article makes me dislike him in a way.
ReplyDeleteI think this article does prove its point about Obama's presidency not making much of a difference, especially to the African American population. Of course, they they thought that once Obama would become president, the racial tensions would decrease, but according to reports, racism against African Americans has risen while racism against other nationalities have actually decreased. Not only has that happened, but the economic stress may have gotten worse since Obama has been elected president. Reports show that there is food insecurity in American households, with African American children being more likely to experience it. Everyone thought that Obama would have changed America around, or at least make it better than what it is before, but maybe, we're just wrong.
ReplyDeleteI don't really like this article on how they portraying black people. They make it seem like white people are flawless and the make no mistakes at all. Just because they have a higher house ownage rate then blacks. And blacks are twice as much on unemployment than whites. And I Don't like the fact that they said if all black people stayed in the house on Election Day Obama will still be president because of white people. Like black people votes doesn't matter at all. They are going to name all of the black people that messed up this year. Most of them black people don't act black anyway. And Michael Jackson act black anyway lol. But overall this article was Bull Sh*t.
ReplyDeleteThis Article hits the points that are very true in our American society. People tend to look for a person's race instead of what they tend to do for the country when electing them. Mr. Blow made very interesting points that kept my interest because I realized that when Obama was running for President that alot of my community didn't pay attention to what he said on television but said they was voting for him right off the back. This article I feel would offend most people due to the fact that people do not like to hear the truth, let alone see the truth on the internet. Mr. Blow was a brave individual for writing something most people will hate him for writing.
ReplyDeleteReading this article displays the truth behind how Barack Obama really found his way into office. That if every african-american would have stayed home on election day, Obama still would be our the President. The point on blacks voting Obama into office because they felt it would decrease reacial tension within the states is very ironic; because in actuality racial tension against blacks have increased. Anti-Black hate crimes have rose 4% from 2007 when the combined percentage of other races decreased 11%. The irony in it all still will not change the fact that Obama is still in office and will remain the next 4 years. However, it is obvious some people just don't feel comfortable with it.
ReplyDeleteThis article demonstrates how much the African Americans in the U.S changed their opinion of Mr.Obama since he'd become presidnt. The article does a good job in covering how much strugles the African Americans went through since Mr.Obama entered the office. What the article fails to mention is how much distruction our president inherited by taking over after Bush. Two wars, an economical crisis, lack of health insurance for majority of Americans etc. They expected Obama to step into office, snap his finguers, and everything will be good, like a magic. when that didnt' happen articles such as this one seizes the opertunity to point out how "bad" things are. This is not fair because Mr.Obama needs time to fix SOME things, and what African Americans are going throug has nothing to do with Mr. Obama being African American at all, so people need to stop placing all the blame on the president's back and find a way to cope with the situation and wait for the change in progress.
ReplyDeleteI think this article did hits the points that are very true in American society. people tend for a person's rarce instead of what they tend to do for the country when electing them. This article also shows the turth behind how Barack Obama really found his way onto office. That if every african american would have stayed in home one election day,Obama still would be our president. And I think the points on blacks voting Obama into office because they felt it would decrease reacial tensoin within the states is very ironic; because in the actuality racail tension against blacks have increased in which more crimes are been creating by them.
