Through out the article, I've read some things that Im pretty familiar with. During Dr. Kings battle with civil rights and promoting peace, he confesed that he wasn't a good administrator! Now I find that shocking because he is one of the best leaders that I know in history. So that was kind of disappointing.Another thing i didn't know about is the civil rights movment threaten to break up. How could one come to such a conclusion?. I also didn't know that he was the third man of the african american race to recieve a Nobel peace prize. I knew that he won one, but i din't know that he was the third of the race to do so. That's even more impressing.
ReplyDeleteMartin Luther King Jr. is an important figure to today's society. He had dreams of equality for everyone, a dream to make everyone's life more peaceful. He accomplished many things in his life. But the things I didn't know were that Martin Luther King Jr. he was one of the leading opponents of the American's participation in the Vietnam War. I also did not know that people had formed organizations behind him, known as SLICK and SNICK. I also didn't know that his birth name was Michael, and then got it changed to Martin in honor of the Protestant reformer.
ReplyDeleteWhile I thought I knew a lot about Martin Luther King, I really did not know that much. I did not know that he was against the war in Vietnam. However I did know that he was not into violence, so knowing now that he was against the war is not really a surprise. I also did not know that his house was bombed. I did expect them to like throw bricks and stuff at the windows. But I did not expect them to go as far as to try to burn his house down. And the last thing that I did not know is that he knew some day he will get assassinated. That makes what he was doing even more courageous because he ways willing die, just to get equality not really for him, but for other people.
ReplyDeleteOne event I was not aware about was when he led a protest march through downtown Memphis, Tenn., in support of the city's striking sanitation workers. Another thing I did not know about what the organization he held in Atlanta called "SLICK". I also wasn’t aware of the bombing of his home during the Bus Boycott.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know his house was bombed so many times. He got so many death threats and some people actually acted on some of their threats. He was a person who endored so much to acheive so much for not only him and his people, but people of all races, all sexes, and all sexual preferences, he believed everyone should be treated equally. I also didn't know he organized such a huge boycott and his follow through on the idea of filling up all the jails and all the cells. Figuring that the police couldn;t put evrybody in jail. Everybody can not be arrested. I also didn't know that he was such an inspiration to not only African-Americans, but to all races and to everyone around the world who wasn't being treated fairly because of something they can not even control.
ReplyDeleteThough I really have no idea about Dr.Martin Luther King, however after reading this artilce, I did achieve some idea about him. AS i mentioned that I really don't have any idea about him, everything in the article seems new for me. The first thing I learn about him is he was a good man as a leader. And I didn't know that he used to inspires the Negores people about their rights, saing that "Everyone are born with equal right".
