When I tried to dig deeper into my family, i did not get any deeper then I already know.So nothing was really fasinating because I already knew all of that. I couldn't get any answers because Im guessing its all too painful to talk about. No one wants to go back and relive those days, so im left with no history. Well i have history, i just don't know about it. I can't figuer anything out from my dad's side because he went through a tough life with his family and he doesn't want me to know about that. From my mom's side, the farthest I could go back is my grandma and nothing beyond that. I guess what I'm confused about is why would my family not want me to know my history, even though its bad. so far no answers
I did not have a chance to look into my family history because my family is from the south and my mom did not grow up around them so she did not know and my father does not associate with his family so he did not know. The only time I could ask my grandmother would be this weekend when she is home and available. My mom's mother is the same way as my mom, she really does not know her parents and was raised by a close friend and her husband whoms names I am not able to remember. My mom's dad is dead and my dad's father does not really talk much about his family, so I sense some secrets that he does not want to talk about. I will try to find out more because my family has like 6 different last names that i know of and would like to know which was the first one given to my ancestors.I think this assignment was a waste of time.
Well since I really did not get far into the past of my families I did not get the full experience of my family. But however I did learn a couple of things. I learned that back in the older times they really did not tell their children a lot about their family in the older days. They just told them the basic's stuff, like who the people they seen around them. And that the family who said where they were born knows about their past families. However with my family tree, I learned who my mom's grandmother and grandfather was. But basically I did not get really a lot information that fascinated me. I probably could of got more, but I did not want to talk to family strangers.
For me it was interesting to research about the past families. Though i didn't have idea about my foreparents,I take help from my grandmom. I called her to ask about her parents, which was actually helpful for me to draw a family tree. However what I figure out from them is that they all have the similar meaning of the name. Since we all are Hindu, they all have the name related to the GOd.
