I don't think that we should discriminate between who is allowed to win the National Step Competition. Just because a group is white or asian or latina, or more specifically, not black, that doesn't take away from there talent, hard work, and dedication to the step show. If African Americans begin to choose to discriminate at something as little as a step show, it will continue to grow into more things. Then Blacks will become just as bad as the whites that used to treat us that way.
I think that the second place winners should have gotten first because I think that had a better performance than the first place winners. Maybe the ZTA only got first place because they were Caucasian and it was a surprise that they would actually do something like that. Some people shouldn't have said racial things about the ZTA because they won first place. Even though they were the only white group, people went overboard with the racial comments. It would have been okay if people only made comments on their performance because like I said before, the second place winners had a better performance than ZTA. But people always have to be racial about things when there's the "odd" group of people.
I found this conflict to be very interesting. While the ZTA group won, I do not think that they really deserved it. I think that their group was very together and they had a nice step team. However I did not found anything really interesting about it except for at the end. I think the reason they really won was because their skills was unexpected. I also found the third group was very horrible. Unlike ZTA they were not together and all they did was jump. I really do not think they deserve third place and shouldn't have it. I think that the 2nd group was very good and they did deserve being in the top but they should have won. I do not find the color of their skins to be the problem. And I do not think that it really should be. If a white step group want to participate then they should. And if they won then the other participants really could not be mad because the judges voted them not the ZTA. I also think that the Cola industry should not have made AKA also number one because of the race issue.
I actually thought the white steppers ZTA did a very good job. Evan though they tried to do dance those normally black girl dances. You know the whole booty popping on the stage. But I liked it. I didn’t expect them to do good because they were white probably. It a weird site seeing white girls steeping well. I thought the AKA should of won 1st place. I think they should keep steeping in the black Greek organization. Sometimes I think black people are more racist now then white people in some situation like this one for an example. The people booed ZTA off the stage even though they placed 1st place. I agree on both of the readings. They both made good point on the whole situation.
As i watch the video I found observe that the second winners should have been in the first place winner.
